Hello!
I am feeling a little bit froggy. Not because I have a frog in my throat, but because it is a Leap Year! And today is a Leap Day!
We have one more day to this month, one more day this year, to be productive. Reach those goals! Just kidding. Do whatever makes you happy!
If you have enjoyed this newsletter over the past year, please consider becoming a paid subscriber! A payment of $9 a month gets you all newsletters, the archives, and more.
Today’s Edition
A few of the past newsletters were bi-weekly. Now I am working on getting back into the swing of a weekly newsletter. But I don’t have much for this one. I am going to keep it short and sweet.
Some sections I didn’t even fill in. I have been busy working on other projects lately, but I still wanted to send this out this week.
One of the other things I am working on is I started a Project Management course with Google!
A Little About Me
If this your first time here, I wanted to tell you a little bit about my professional background. And if it isn’t your first time here, maybe there are still some new things for you to learn!
I have been in sourcing for 11 years. After struggling to find a solid career out of college, that is what happens when you study Filmmaking and Creative Writing, I eventually found my way into Sourcing, which I didn't even know existed. Since then, I love to help other people find jobs, as I know what that struggle can be like.
I have worked worked in RPO, corporate, and agency backgrounds and have hired in industries like banking, manufacturing, veterinary, dairy, tech, and pharma.
I am a seven-time conference speaker, having spoken at Sourcing Summit, Evry1, SourceCon, HRTX, ATAP's Global TA Day, and TA Week. I am a three-time Dueling Sourcer, an ERE panelist, a podcast guest, and have written blog posts for different sourcing publications.
I just put this image together to showcase the conferences that I have spoken at and other events that I have been a part of!

A Boolean String
When searching for candidates who are open to new opportunities, you can filter your LinkedIn Recruiter search to Open to new opportunities. But maybe you don’t have LinkedIn Recruiter. Or maybe you want to search for people who are looking, but haven’t turned on this setting or don’t even know that it exists.
Add this to your search string: (seeking OR "open to" unemployed OR layoff OR layoff OR laidoff OR "laid off" OR furloughed OR "next opportunity")
I just plugged this into Google - site:linkedin.com/in (seeking OR "open to" unemployed OR layoff OR layoff OR laidoff OR "laid off" OR furloughed OR "next opportunity") and the x-ray search gave me results of 1,840,000 profiles.
If I was hiring software engineers, I could add (swe OR “software engineer” OR “software developer” OR frontend OR backend OR “front end” OR “back end”) to the string and now site:linkedin.com/in (swe OR “software engineer” OR “software developer” OR frontend OR backend OR “front end” OR “back end”) AND (seeking OR "open to" unemployed OR layoff OR layoff OR laidoff OR "laid off" OR furloughed OR "next opportunity") and get 116,000 results. That is a lot!
Talent Acquisition Job Seeker Spotlight:
I don’t have one for this week, but please let me know if you want to be included in one of the next ones!
TA News
To find these articles, I just type in words like: “talent acquisition” or recruiting or recruitment onto Google News. I don’t really use Boolean, I type them in separately. The best thing to type in is “talent acquisition,” because anything about recruiting usually brings you to sports news or army news.
I will continue adding these to the Google Drive!

Talent Acquisition Positions
If you aren’t following me on LinkedIn, hit that follow button as I often share the TA job postings that others share. These postings that I share come from Martin Ngo, David Marr, Swati Soni, Haley O’Neil, Alexandru Gotoi, Tawfiq Abu-Khajil, Alan Gomes, Amy Packard Checketts, David Valencia.
As a reminder, none of these people are responsible for the jobs, they are just sharing roles they have come across. So, make sure to hit that apply button but remember they can’t help you much past that point. Oh, and make sure to not just use Easy Apply, you must also apply on the company website.
Don’t forget to follow these awesome people on LinkedIn, so you can keep up with their posts. And hit that Share button, so you can help others like you!
Here are some of their posts from the past week:
Job Application Tracker
If you are looking for a new role, feel free to use my Google Sheet tracker to keep track of everything. I did see that someone recently filled in the document for their own job search. Just make sure to save it as a new document.
Where I Will Be Speaking
I will be speaking at SourceCon in April! This will be my first time speaking at a SourceCon in-person. Even more exciting, it is in Orlando. My first time attending a conference was at SourceCon in Orlando!
As my mom said, you will be in Disney the home of the greatest Sourcer(er), Mickey Mouse. I get my humour from her.
