Hello!
Last week, I travelled to San Diego for my very first in-person conference speaking engagement! I spoke at TA Week. I learned so much from other people, made some new friends, caught up with old friends, enjoyed the sun and warm weather, and explored Old Town.
I also got a new headshot, courtesy of http://headshots.com/!

Today’s Edition
I talk a little about the conference and the other speaking engagements I have done. I also added a ton of fun, relatable content and many new articles!
A Little About Me
If this your first time here, I wanted to tell you a little bit about my professional background. And if it isn’t your first time here, maybe there are still some new things for you to learn!
I have been in sourcing for 11 years. After struggling to find a solid career out of college, that is what happens when you study Filmmaking and Creative Writing, I eventually found my way into Sourcing, which I didn't even know existed. Since then, I love to help other people find jobs, as I know what that struggle can be like.
I have worked worked in RPO, corporate, and agency backgrounds and have hired in industries like banking, manufacturing, veterinary, dairy, tech, and pharma.
I am a seven-time conference speaker, having spoken at Sourcing Summit, Evry1, SourceCon, HRTX, ATAP's Global TA Day, and TA Week. I am a three-time Dueling Sourcer, an ERE panelist, a podcast guest, and have written blog posts for different sourcing publications.
I just put this image together to showcase the conferences that I have spoken at and other events that I have been a part of!

Let’s Talk About It
There sure have been a lot of recruiters on the Bachelor the past few seasons. If this doesn’t tell you how difficult this industry has been hit, then I don’t know what will.
Relatable Content
I am sure some some can relate to this recently.
Sometimes, you just have to keep those good ideas to yourself. And work on them on your own time!
You monster.
Awww. No.
I can’t tell if this is real or not.
This is the most relatable post I have ever seen on the internet.
I miss Broad City.
That is way too many emails for one day.
That $20 can get you, like, a soda these days.
I feel like a lot of us could use this these days.
I am caffeine free and it does help a little with anxiety.

TA News
To find these articles, I just type in words like: “talent acquisition” or recruiting or recruitment onto Google News. I don’t really use Boolean, I type them in separately. The best thing to type in is “talent acquisition,” because anything about recruiting usually brings you to sports news or army news.
I will continue adding these to the Google Drive!

Tips and Tricks for Talent Acquisition Folks and Job Seekers
Tip #428: When a recruiter reaches out to you on Indeed, accept the message even if you are not interested. Just let them know why you are not interested. They might have another fitting role for you now, or in the future, but can't reach out again if you reject the message.
Tip #429: Try convincing your manager to invest in a new tool or platform by researching your competitors listed on the website. Let your manager know that you will lose out to your competitors if you are not using the same strategies!
Tip #430: When you are searching for candidates on LinkedIn and you come across someone who hasn't responded to you there, look them up on Indeed and send them a message on there. And vice versa.

Talent Acquisition Positions
If you aren’t following me on LinkedIn, hit that follow button as I often share the TA job postings that others share. These postings that I share come from Martin Ngo, David Marr, Swati Soni, Haley O’Neil, Alexandru Gotoi, Tawfiq Abu-Khajil, Alan Gomes, Amy Packard Checketts, David Valencia.
As a reminder, none of these people are responsible for the jobs, they are just sharing roles they have come across. So, make sure to hit that apply button but remember they can’t help you much past that point. Oh, and make sure to not just use Easy Apply, you must also apply on the company website.
Don’t forget to follow these awesome people on LinkedIn, so you can keep up with their posts. And hit that Share button, so you can help others like you!
Here are some of their posts from the past two weeks:

As my mom said, you will be in Disney the home of the greatest Sourcer(er), Mickey Mouse. I get my humour from her.
You can learn more about the conference here!
If you are planning to attend this conference, use the code MWSCS24 to save 10% And if you can’t travel to Orlando, you can still attend the conference virtually!
